Cells are the basic building blocks of life. In this course we will learn about the various organelles and structures that make up the animal cell. We will learn how they work and what they do to help the cell sustain life. We will learn how the structures operate and learn how they related to items or places we find around our cities. Students will create a cell city by the end of the class based on the information learned in the course. They will present to their classmates the last week of class. Class 1: Introduction to cells - Cell membrane and Cytoplasm Class 2: Cell organelles - part 1 Class 3: Cell organelles - part 2 Class 4: City presentations The learner's progress will be evaluated based on their end project.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am currently a high school biology teacher for our homeschool hybrid program. I am fascinated by the wonderful inner workings of our cells and how they sustain our lives. I love making sure all are involved and that they engage in the learning process. I love to be creative and to combine creativity with learning. I believe learning is much more beneficial and fun that way!
