In this Self-Paced class children will create unique snowflake process art paintings.  They will be given templates and will use their own basic supplies.  Children will get a little messy and learn about how different each snowflake is.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 5
Beginner Level
Children will create unique winter themed snowflake paintings using teacher provided shapes with their own paint, pom poms, and clothespins.  They will select the snowflakes they want to use and colors of paint to set their own style.

Pictures and videos will be provided to help guide children with their project.  Clear examples will be given.  A complete supply list is listed.  Children will be encouraged to make their paintings their own.  Let your self-expression and creativity shine!

Learning Goals

To create one of a kind winter themed snowflake process art paintings.  Each painting will be as unique as real snowflakes are.

Celebrating Winter With Snowflake Pom Pom Painting
 Children will create unique winter themed snowflake paintings using a Process Art technique.  Each painting will be something they can proudly display to celebrate individuality and the winter season.  Children will walk away with new knowledge on painting outside the box and an open mind to trying new things.  They will want to continue with Process Art techniques.  Children's critical thinking skills will be put to use.  Their self-expression and creativity will shine! 

Other Details

Learning Needs
This class is for everyone.  Age or ability does not matter.  For those who do not like to get messy they will not have to directly touch paint.  This is a great hands-on experience.  Sensory skills will be increased.
Parental Guidance
Some may need assistance with cutting, pouring paint, and preparing for the project.
Pre-Requisites
A love for painting, creating, experimenting, winter, and snow.
Supply List
snowflake templates (patterns) provided - PRINT AT LEAST TWO COPIES

at least two sheets of one of the following: canvas panel, watercolor paper, canvas paper, mixed media paper, cardstock

scrap paper

light blue, dark blue, turquoise, purple, gray acrylic or tempera paint (these colors are suggested, children may opt for other colors if they would like)

paper towel

paper plate/cardboard/paint tray

4 pom poms or cotton balls (1 inch pom poms will work best, but other sizes are okay)

4 clothespins

scissors

scotch tape
 5 files available upon enrollment

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
