This  self paced class will celebrate Black History Month by teaching and remembering inspirational Black men and women. This class is a reading and comprehension class which will use interactive slides, 360 tours, videos, games, polls and quiz questions.

The presentation has optional audio which may help some learners.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about four inspirational Black men and women who affected change in a profound way while practicing their reading and memory recall skills. Being able to fact find and locate specific detail in the text.

Lesson 1:
Katherine Johnson
 Learn about her historical role as one of the first African-American women to work as a NASA scientist. 
Lesson 2:
Nelson Mandela
 Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid activist, politician, and statesman who served as the first black president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. 
Lesson 3:
Mary Seacole
 Mary Jane Seacole was a British nurse and businesswoman. In 1990, Seacole was awarded the Jamaican Order of Merit. 
Lesson 4:
Ruby Bridges
 Ruby Bridges was the first African American child to attend formerly whites-only William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis on November 14, 1960.
