Class Experience
Let's learn about some fearless & heroic women in history in an artistic way! In each class, we will read about and discuss one woman. We will then draw inspiration from her story to explore & paint with watercolor. Students will explore the watercolor medium and how to use it step by step in fun, unique ways to create unimaginable results along with their peers. ■ What We Will Learn ■ Each week we will explore a watercolor in new ways. I will demonstrate new techniques or skills each week...
Students will learn some women's history and draw real-world inspiration to create beautiful artwork. Students will become comfortable with watercolor and learn techniques they can use over and over again. They will learn the basic aspects of working with watercolors as well as an understanding of basic brush control and precision.
Watercolor Paper (300g or higher) - at least 8 sheets Watercolor Paints - a set with multiple shades of each color is preferred but a basic set is okay. Make sure to have all colors of the rainbow plus brown and black. Paint Palette for mixing Paintbrushes *** important*** you should have at least one of each brush- 1) round in size 1 or 2 2) round or quill size 5 or 6 3) flat or round size 10 Oil Pastels or Crayola Crayons Cup of Water Paper towels Newspaper to cover your workspace Optional: Masking or Painters Tape, Recycled Cardboard Box, Table Salt, Plastic Wrap, Pipettes, Acrylic Paints, etc.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
