Celebrate the Holidays: Christmas Zumba Kids Dance Party!
In this Christmas dance party students will participate in a full Zumba Kids class from warm-up to cool-down all to fun holiday music, plus we will play a game! Class is open to all students, including those who are neurodiverse.

Looking for a fun way to celebrate the holidays and get out all of that extra energy and excitement? Look no further than our online Christmas Zumba Kids Dance Party! *Please read entire class description before enrolling. This is a one-time class, but students are welcome to enroll in as many sections of the Christmas Zumba Dance Party as they'd like.* Happy Holidays! Welcome to our Christmas Zumba Dance Party! We will engage in a full Zumba Kids class and play a game all with fun holiday music! Our Christmas Zumba Dance Party is inclusive of new and experienced dancers alike with options for modifications to simplify or advance each step. My previous classes have included trained dancers, students with disabilities, and everyone in-between. This fitness class is great for students with extra energy before or after school, homeschool students who need a physical outlet or a PE class, students working on their gross-motor skills, and students who love to dance and move! Class format: -A holiday themed "question of the day": Would you rather sing Christmas Carols or make Christmas Cookies? (Students who need are welcome to answer via typing in the chat, having an adult speak for them, or to simply wave hello) -A warm-up dance to an upbeat holiday song -A break-down and "performance" of a dance -Holiday-themed Freeze Dance -Cool-down: slow movements and stretches with a festive twist -A "Closing Question": "What was your favorite part of today's class?" **There will also be the opportunity for a "show-and-tell" at the very end of class** *Note: There will be a short break (1-2 minutes) between each activity for water/discussion. Classroom Page: I reccomend looking at the post on the classroom page 5-10 minutes before the start of class. There they will see the "question of the day" and your child can prepare their answer before joining to relieve any anxiety. Take a peek at the classroom page a few minutes after class, as well. *For the best experience, be sure the student is on-camera from head-to-toes*
Learning Goals
In our Christmas Zumba Kids Dance Party students will:
-Share their answer to a holiday-themed opinion question
-Learn and practice some basic dance/fitness steps and moves
-Follow simple directions, get their hearts pumping, and have FUN during Holiday Freeze Dance
-Learn about and practice cooling down their bodies after an awesome exercise experience
-Reflect on their class by each sharing their favorite part of our Christmas Zumba Kids Dance Party!
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Be sure that students are head-to-toes on camera when standing. Students should have water, room to move, comfortable clothing, and appropriate footwear.
Parents may want to remain close by to encourage attention and help with any technology issues that might arise.
If any technological issues arise during class (ex: teacher is inaudible), parents can send me a message in the chat on Zoom and I will do my best to resolve the issue.
If a family has any special needs, comments, or concerns before or after class they can feel free to send me a private message on Outschool and I will do my best to accommodate to your satisfaction within 48 hours.
This class is great for students who are neurotypical, neurodiverse, have Autism, ADHD, speech impairments, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and many other disability classifications.
This class will have Christmas/holiday themes, but it will be secular in nature. We won't explicitly reference any of the religious aspects of Christmas in this class.

Our Christmas Zumba Dance Party requires: -Safe footwear to dance, jump, and move in -A glass of water or water bottle within reach
