The students will listen to a non-fiction frog book during the "research" part of the class. Together we will brainstorm frog facts. They will also listen to a fiction frog story. During the directed drawing portion of the class, the students will draw and color a frog. They will share the frogs with their classmates, if they feel comfortable doing so. The students will then write some frog facts. Their finished ALL ABOUT FROGS research project can be displayed on their refrigerator for...
-Student will use listening skills by focusing on frog facts. -Student will use research skills to gather information about frogs. -Student will use creative skills by drawing and coloring a frog. -Student will use writing skills to create sentences with facts about frogs.
The student will need paper, a pencil, and crayons or colored pencils.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
