Class Experience
I'm Chinese. I can speak from experience why we eat certain things, why I used to receive red envelopes but now have to be the one doing the giving of red envelopes - and so much more. Allow me to share with your learner how we celebrate Chinese New Year!

Please make sure your learner has all these items ready for class, especially precut items as specified below. For crafts that require the use of glue or marker, please also have a piece of paper to place under as to not mess up the table. ***** Monday: Origami tiger red envelope ***** 3 - Sheets of orange printer/copy paper (please precut into 8.5 in. x 8.5 in. square sheets) Pencil with eraser Black Sharpie or black marker Glue stick Scissors Small googly eyes (optional) ***** Tuesday: Paper firecrackers ***** 2 - Sheets of red paper (standard printer/copy paper size) Glue stick Pencil Ruler Scissors Scotch tape Strings; gold, red or whatever color you have available ***** Wednesday: Gold ingots ***** Glue stick 3 - Sheets of gold or yellow origami paper (gold or yellow printer/copy paper workable); please precut into 6 in. x 6 in. square sheets ***** Thursday: Origami fish and dumplings ***** 3 - Sheets of red or yellow printer/copy paper (please precut into 5 in. x 5 in. square sheets) Glue stick Black Sharpie or black marker Googly eyes (optional) 3 - Sheets of white printer/copy paper (please precut into 4 in. x 4 in. square sheets) ***** Friday: Origami tiger corner bookmark ***** Pencil with eraser Black Sharpie or black marker Glue stick Googly eyes (optional) 3 - Sheets of orange origami paper (orange printer/copy paper workable); please precut into 5 in. x 5 in. square sheets Note: extra supplies are listed just in case your learner would like a start-over or has time to make more.
