Description
Class Experience
Students will identify symbols and holidays that represent American history. Students will follow step-by-step directions to create a collage-style paper flag. Students will enjoy being creative and construct a unique piece of art.
As a children’s author and illustrator, as well as elementary school teacher, I enjoy teaching young learners the process of creating art that is meaningful and reflects their own interests.
one rectangle sheet of cardboard or cardstock (you can use a side of a cereal box) one sheet of black (preferred) or blue construction paper Red, White, Blue paper and objects: - Paper - any kind will work, but construction paper and/or scrapbooking paper is best - old magazines, newspapers, flyers - stickers, buttons, other objects that you may want to use to create your flag - other color paper if you want to use more colors for your fireworks - glitter (optional) Scissors Glue Pencils, Crayons, Markers
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
