US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
My dog, Jax, and I will greet the learners as they join the class. Once class begins, I will introduce the craft project and the learners will start working on it. The craft involves coloring, cutting with scissors, and gluing or taping. While the learners work on the craft project, I will read fictional stories about cats. The learners will be able to see the pictures in the books as I read. Between the stories, the learners will be able to interact and show their progress on the craft. If participating in the craft project is not preferred, or printing is not an option, the learner is always welcome to attend class with a blank sheet of paper in place of the printout or without doing the craft project. I will read Kitty's Special Job by Claude Clement, The Curious Little Kitten Around the House by Linda Hayward, and Tiger is a Scaredy Cat by Joan Phillips. . At the end of class, learners will be encouraged to share their project with me, Jax, and the rest of the class. If, for any reason, Jax is unable to attend the class, one of my other four pets will attend in Jax's place.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve comprehension skills by listening to stories and looking at the pictures in the book. They will practice motor skills by coloring, cutting with scissors, and gluing or taping. Additionally, learners will be allowed to practice their social skills when they have the opportunity to interact with me and other learners during portions of the class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, everyone! I’m Ms. Lorinda.
I have classes listed for learners between 3 to 11 years old and will hold class with a minimum of one enrolled learner. I hold animal themed story time classes, which include a craft project, as well as show & tell classes. I also have 1:1 private story time classes for 3-5 year old learners where, in the ongoing option, I can tailor the lessons for each learner.
I have experience teaching my children at home, as well as teaching preschool music classes and substituting for teachers and paraprofessionals in public schools. I like to connect with my learners through a common love of animals while creating a fun and relaxing learning environment.
I look forward to meeting your learner(s) in my classes, along with any of their pets, or special stuffed animals, they want to show me.
