Each week we will read a picture book featuring a cat and explore the central conflict and characters of the story through conversation and movement or art. Mabulous the imaginary cat will have questions for us to ponder and discuss.
Class experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
This book club gives students a sweet, gentle way to start their week or take a break. Students will have a chance to socialize with peers in a warm, relaxed class environment as they read a picture book about cats with Meredith and explore the story through discussion, movement, acting and/or drawing. Meredith Berlin currently has one beautiful cat named Monsoon, and has fostered many other cats and kittens with help from her two cat-loving kids (who are now adults). She has been teaching multi-arts classes for home school students for over 10 years, and creative drama (including story-book drama) in schools and theaters for 25 years. She also creates curriculum and trains teachers to use movement, music, drama and crafts to enhance story time and literacy lessons.
Please have paper and something to draw with on hand, as we will occasionally draw pictures during out book club time.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
