Dav Pilkey has just released his new edition to the Cat Kid Comic Club series! In this class we will read and discuss his newest book, Cat Kid Comic Club: On Purpose (Book 3), together in class. As we read each chapter we will periodically stop to discuss many of the hilarious events in the book. After each of the two classes, students will receive an optional workbook of comprehension questions and vocabulary words to complete for each chapter if they wish to do so as well as an optional bonus activity. My teaching style is very expressive and energetic and I love giving students many opportunities to participate throughout each class. My main goal is to make sure students are having fun and that my classroom is a place where students are comfortable with being themselves and that their thoughts and ideas are valued. Students do not need to have read this book or any of the other Dog Man or Cat Kid books before coming to class, although they do need to bring their own copy of the book to class to follow along with. Following is an outline of how this class will be structured: 1. Meet and Greet (students can share something fun they did recently or how the weather is where they live) 2. Read and Discuss (teacher will do the reading out loud and students can follow along) 3. Optional Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Bonus Activity packet sent out after class. (This class is a 2 week class: Week 1 will cover chapters 1-7 and Week 2 will cover chapters 8-14.)
