In this class, the student will learn kitchen basics as we prepare a delicious, budget -friendly, meal together. This meal is designed to give the student a firm grasp of the fundamentals of food preparation. As we work through the meal, the student will get the opportunity to hone their knife skills, sautee, roasting, and sauce-making abilities. We will cover safe cooking temperatures, and proper food handling procedures as we proceed through the meal. The meal for this class is: Breaded...
I have worked and taught in the culinary industry for more than twenty years.
Ingredients: half-inch cut boneless Pork Chops Flour 2-3 Eggs Breading crumbs (pre-made or store-bought) 4-5 Medium potatoes Asparagus spears (1 bundle) 5-6 garlic cloves 1 large yellow onion Olive oil 2 cups milk butter Salt and pepper Seasonings of choice* (optional: chef's choice) Tools: 2 Sautee pans (one oven-ready), 1 Pot, 1 saucepan, thongs, spatula, whisk, 3 medium bowls, a sharp knife, and cutting board.
1 hour 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Kitchen work carries inherent risk. The student will be using knives and handling hot pans. In addition, some people have food allergies, please be aware of allergies such as wheat, eggs, onions, and garlic. Please observe with due caution.
