Learn to draw from home! This class allows children to explore their creativity while learning the basics of drawing and cartooning. Every day children will be guided step by step through the process of how to draw a new cartoon. Children will be shown new drawing techniques to build their skills in an interactive setting where they are encouraged to ask questions. Each cartoon starts with simple shapes and slowly builds up to amazing cartoon creations! This class meets once a day for 1 week. New lessons are added every week for returning students. Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Brian and I am an artist and illustrator from Los Angeles, California. I am a classically trained in fine art and animation. In addition to making art I really enjoy teaching youth and helping them to develop their own unique form of creativity.
I have a number of years teaching and working with youth in various after school programs. I truly believe to that learning should be fun and I strive to provide an environment that is enriching, safe, and creatively nurturing. Students will be encouraged to express themselves artistically and to add their own imagination to the lessons.
Currently, I offer daily and weekly, cartooning courses. These are ongoing classes and the lessons evolve as course progresses, so children that wish to repeat the class will have new material to work from. These are entry level classes designed for anyone with an interest in drawing. All skill levels are welcome. Classes are non-competitive and each student is encouraged to do their own personal best. I believe that students can learn a lot from drawing with each other. In these classes students will have the opportunity to learn from myself but also each other as well.
In addition, I will be offering limited one time classes. This is a good way to test out the course and see if your child would be interested in one of the longer classes. These classes are also a option for tutoring if your child has specific drawing goals. If your child has special needs please reach out and let me know before the first class so I can make any necessary adjustments.
