Class Experience
Come learn about these carnivorous plants-Sundew, Venus Flytrap, and Pitcher Plant. In this 4 week course, we will focus on the 3 main carnivorous plants. We will learn about the specific features they have to find their prey. We will create themed crafts, respond to discuss questions about each plant, ------ Week 1 Carnivorous Plant Information (various species) Week 2 Venus Flytrap Week 3 Sundew Week 4 Pitcher Plant Each week we will focus and feature the following for each plant...
Learn about different types of carnivorous plants, and their tricks to get their prey.
Mrs. Collins is a science teacher that has 23 years of experience. She enjoys raising up carnivorous plants in her spare time.
1 file available upon enrollmentspiral notebook something to diagram with (pencils and coloring pencils) ruler tape glue red, green, yellow and brown construction paper scissors paper plates red/green paint paint brushes clay or play dough assorted legos (optional but students love to create plant model scenes to show and tell) computer paper chenille sticks paper plates computer paper permanent markers Recommended: Purchase a Venus Flytrap, Sundew or Pitcher Plant from a garden store if you can but its not required, just adds more fun to the class session to grow an actual plant on the side.

No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be using the National History Museum website, to review concepts and look at images of carnivorous plants. We will also use Youtube.
