Class Experience
This delicious recipe is a summer favorite. Reminiscent of county fairs and carnivals, your kids will enjoy making this decadent treat. In the first few minutes of class, I would just like to learn a little bit about my students. I want to know if they cook at home or what their favorite dish is. We will discuss safety, measurements, equipment use and presentation. Next we will dive in to the cooking. I will be teaching from my home kitchen which will be brightly lit so that they can see...
Ingredients: 2 granny smith apples 2 cups all purpose flour 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1 tbs baking powder 1 tsp salt 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 3/4 c apple cider or high end apple juice 2 large eggs 2 tbs melted butter 3 cups vegetable oil 2 cups powdered sugar 1/4 cup apple cider or high end apple juice 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg Equipment: peeler large bowl paper towels 2 whisks 2 medium bowls 1 French knife cutting board dutch oven or large pot 1/3 cup measuring scoop baking pan cooling rack slotted spoon thermometer
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is needed for the use of the stove and sharp objects in the kitchen.
