In this multicultural club, artists will learn about other cultures. We'll play fun games, have educational discussions and study a variety of subjects ranging from famous landmarks, fun foods and other things countries like to do.

Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Welcome to our ongoing multicultural art club for travelers and artists alike.  Each week we will learn about different cultural activities through the use of various watercolor techniques. The topics we will be focusing on will be primarily secular such as multicultural foods, multicultural forms of dancing, different types of multicultural artwork, family traditions, and hobbies. 

This is a homeschool friendly course that integrates different subject matter like art, history and culture into it's curriculum while facilitating a social environment where students can learn through play. After the demo and game time talking amongst each other is encouraged. 

Each class will begin with an ice breaker, participate in an interactive presentation, play an educational trivia game to assess what we have learned then we will make art.  The various topics we will cover will vary based on what month the class takes place. For this month we will be focusing on the following cultural topics:

I have gone to school for art education and have obtained my teaching degree via Grand Valley State University and have been certified for art education for grades young five through twelfth grade. I specialize in integrating general curriculum subject matter such as art, English, science, social studies and history into my lesson plans to ensure homeschool population gets ample opportunity to meet minimum state standards while learning how to draw and having fun. I have also had experience teaching in a vastly diverse environment and understand the importance of adhering to different cultural expectations and taking the time to understand people's different perspectives.
