Many students don't consider careers in the hotel business because they're not aware of jobs other than Front Desk and Housekeeping within the hotel building. In this class I will discuss the many career options in the hotel business.

As students enter and proceed through the teenage years they begin to think about what they want to do for a career. Many students don't select careers in the hotel business because they're not aware of the many career opportunities the hotel business offers. I have 35 years of hotel experience and have done just about everything in the industry including: corporate training, consulting, social media, development, sales, and multi-property management. I love explaining to families the many career options in the hotel business. The hotel business offers so much more than working "inn" (yes pun intended) a hotel. There is more to the hotel business other than Front Desk and Housekeeping. For example, do you know who selects the color schemes for hotel rooms? Interior designers do that. And what about setting the room rates? That's done by very smart people that use a great deal of statistical data; they're called Revenue Managers. Think of this class and me as the career day speaker for the hotel business. My classes are fun, and engaging with several role plays to make it real and add to the fun. Everyone will have a blast.

I have 35 years of hotel industry experience. During that 35 years I held many different positions including: General Manager, Corporate Trainer, and at one point was part of an ownership group.
While working in the hotel business I also coached basketball at 6 high schools.
You'll find me teaching classes about business. I especially like to teach classes that demonstrate to students how what they're learning now is applied in the real world.
I play racquetball at least 4 days per week. I also run the largest youth racquetball program in the Mid-Atlantic region.Reviews
