In this one time class, high school age students will learn about various engineering career paths that are available. This class is designed to provide high schoolers with the information necessary to make informed decisions regarding their college major and which engineering career would suit them best. Students will learn about various career paths that are available for those who are considering being a engineer. Students will also be introduced to many fields of engineering in order to help them choose the field that best fits their interests.
I am a mechanical engineer. I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering. I have been exposed to many people from different engineering disciplines. I have mentored beginning engineering students in college.
A pdf of the slides will be available for students. Paper and pencil may be necessary for taking any notes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
