Cards may need to be finished after class if more time is needed.Class Experience
I teach the kids how to create their own cards and decorate them using drawing and watercolors. Basic lettering styles and art techniques will be taught.Students will be able to see the project in real time and talk freely about making, giving, and receiving cards. There will be cards on display that they can copy but they will also be encouraged to use their own ideas and personalize the cards they make. This is a socializing class, to relax and talk about cards that we have received that made us smile. We will also share what we might use our cards for and mention the importance of a simple "Thank You" or "Get Well Soon" card for someone we know who are sick. Students will also be encouraged to share their cards on screen so we can celebrate their works of art.
Learning Goals
Learners will practice drawing and layout ideas for the card design, basic drawing and/or watercolor painting techniques, lettering, and practice sharing artwork and experiences.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Brigham Young University Idaho
Hello! I am BriAnn Ongesel. I have taught online classes for over 7 years and over 2 years here on Outschool. I teach art classes to ages 5-17.
I have my bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Brigham Young University Idaho. I also studied UX/UI design from California Institute of the Arts. I am currently a freelance designer, online teacher, and mother of four.
I believe that the best learning comes from doing. Students learn from practicing the principles taught and from sharing what they learn with their peers. It is important to have fun in my classes, as well as talking with other students about class concepts and similar interests. Learning is about chasing what excites you and diving into all you can with it.
My hobbies include reading, drawing, and baking. I love good food - including 'nicecream', butternut squash, and cheesecake.
