In this 60 minute class, student will be creating a painting of a Cardinal bird. Students will learn how to sketch the bird using simple shapes, and refine that sketch into a painting using simple watercolor techniques. #creative

Class Experience

In this class, we will be sketching and painting a beautiful bird, known as the Cardinal.  
My teaching style is relaxed and peaceful, with an emphasis on enjoying the process, vs. worrying about creating a “perfect” painting. Some drawing and/or watercolor painting experience would be helpful, but is not necessary. I firmly believe that anyone with interest, and willingness to try, can have a really enjoyable experience in this class.

The class objectives (outside of an enjoyable experience and a pretty painting) is to break down a complex image into simple shapes, and learning some basic sketching and watercolor methods.

-watercolor paper
-watercolor paint
-large, medium, and small round paint brushes
-pencil and eraser
-paper towel and water cup
-masking tape
-hair blowdryer

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
