Class Experience
In this class, students will learn how to play the popular card games Black Jack and Poker. We will begin by focusing on the basic rules, and later move on to more advanced strategy. No experience is necessary. There will be plenty of time for students to ask questions during the class. My teaching style prioritizes fun. It is my experience that when kids are having fun, they are more open to learning. So grab a deck of cards and I'll see you in class!

I have been working with kids as an academic tutor since 2004. Over the years, I have helped my students improve their grades and raise confidence at a consistent rate. Regarding this class, specifically, I have been playing card games my entire life. I find that kids enjoy card games, and it is actually a wonderful way to add a bit of mathematics to a child's day.
Very little homework will be assigned. I will ask the students to review basic topics during the week, and we will discuss them at the start of the next class.
A deck of cards is optional - no materials required.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
