Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that prioritizes its cultural values as well as Afro-liberation. Representation and history is huge in Capoeira, so references of Capoeira’s past is included. Capoeira was conceived during times of slavery in Brazil and those stories are a part of Capoeira’s origin and history. Also, we will go upside down sometimes to do handstands, or be spinning to do kicks. It’s important that learners have enough space (8x8 minimum) to practice and train.
