Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
This class is for students who love art and want to dive into canvas painting. They will create an entire painting (the one shown in the picture) in the time they have in class. I will be showing them step-by-step how to do this and some techniques along the way. I have taught art and calligraphy for years and have mastered it myself. This class is a fun and interactive way to let your student paint their own masterpiece and have something they created.

In class, we will begin with the background. While that is drying a bit, we will go through and learn some painting techniques on white paper or sketch paper. I will cover sponging, stippling, fading, and more. This class will grow your student's creativity and they will leave the class confident in their art skills. They will also leave class with a piece of art that is theirs.

Please check the materials section of this class. This class requires specific supplies and materials.

Students will need the following:
- Canvas (rectangle is preferred at any size)
- Brushes (Larger square, round brush or any size, small brush, OLD toothbrush)
- Acrylic Paint (white, blue, black, green, red, yellow) - Or any added colors - Acrylic is needed
- Cup with water for brushes
- Paper towels
- An old towel to put under your painting just in case

***If Amazon won't deliver in time, anything like this at Michael's, Walmart, or Hobby Lobby will work. It just needs a good variety of brushes.

Also if you cannot get canvas in time, feel free to cut poster board to size or use a sketch pad. Just make sure you have something under it so paint doesn't get on your table. :)
