This fun and interactive class introduces kids ages 11-14 to the basics of graphic design using Canva. Over five engaging sessions, students will learn how to create eye-catching posters, collages, animations, and more, all while exploring essential design principles. Each class focuses on a different aspect of design, allowing students to build a diverse skill set and gain confidence in their creative abilities. In this ongoing class, your child will dive into the exciting world of graphic design with hands-on activities that make learning both enjoyable and practical. Here’s what you can expect to learn: ⇢ Lesson 1: Introduction to Canva's Editing Tools ⇢ Lesson 2: Color Theory ⇢ Lesson 3: Experimenting with different fonts to design stylish text ⇢ Lesson 4: Crafting creative collages with shapes and images ⇢ Lesson 5: Layout and Composition Each 30-minute lesson includes: Introduction (5 minutes): Overview of the day's topic and objectives. Hands-On Activity (25 minutes): Guided practice where students create their own designs based on the lesson's focus. Wrap-Up (5 minutes): Sharing and discussing the students’ work, providing feedback and encouragement. How will I teach? SPECIAL NOTE: For the best learning experience, it's beneficial for students to use two devices: one to watch the Zoom teaching session and another to create their Canva digital art. Alternatively, students can easily switch between browser tabs.
