What's included

1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hours per week
Homework
1 hour per week. A choice board will be reviewed at the end of class and the instructions explained by the teacher. The pdf can be found after class as an attachment on a classroom post on the classroom page. Students complete one choice from the choice board to complete for the week. This assignment is due by the next class time. Students can post to the classroom page to share their work with the rest of the class. If they prefer to only share with me, they can message me to share their work. We will also have some time in the next class to share/talk about our choice board assignments. I will also complete one square of the choice board to encourage participation and give examples. These weekly classes for this class do not build upon previous weeks and learners are able to join and leave at any time. No matter when you join, you can listen while students share and start the choice board from your first class.
Assessment
I will always give feedback on student's progress in the classroom. Students can share their choice board creation at the beginning of each class and submit either on the classroom page or in a message to me.

Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 3
There are so many canines on our planet Earth! Wolves, jackals, coyotes and some you might not have heard of yet like the elusive Maned Wolf. They are ALL absolutely amazing animals, so come and join this class to learn about different canines.

Each week, we will learn about a different species of canine. We will learn about their habitat, diet, adaptations, endangered status, and more! Our discussion about the canine will be guided by a slideshow/pictures to aid in learning. At the end of class, we will add the canine of the week to our class map and review the choice board together.

Choice Board:
Each week, students will be sent a different choice board to choose one activity to complete for homework with an array of fun activities related to the week's canine. A choice board sort of looks like a bingo card but in each square, there is a different option to choose from. These options will be different assignments students can choose from that appeals to their learning style/interests. A choice board gives student a choice between a variety of activities that will extend their learning while also allowing them to show their knowledge. The supplies for each choice on the choice boards vary. However, all choice board supplies are items such as paper, pencil, printables (provided on the classroom page), a digital device, etc. Please, send me a message if you have any questions about the choice boards.

While these weekly classes do not necessarily build upon previous weeks after a certain date the sections will be set to private at a certain time because new learners would only have a few canines before the fun/review class. Learners are able to join/leave/skip a class when they choose. Please check the schedule below. Some classes have bonus fun such games and quizzes.
