In this multi-day course, students will use candy hearts to work on math concepts of sorting, patterning and graphing.

Valentine's day is upon us and what better way to celebrate than enjoying some candy heart math! This class will meet 3 times in the course of a week to work on a few different math concepts. Day 1: Candy heart sorting and patterning Students will sort their pile of candy hearts into piles by color. We will then count them and build patterns with them. We will cover AB, AABB, and ABC patterns. If time remains, we will look at other types of patterns such as ABBA. Day 2: Building bar...
Students will utilize their skills for following directions. They will use communication skills as we share and discuss the different graphs. They will use and practice math concepts of sorting, patterning, and graphing.
