Candy Chemistry: Skittles Science Experiment
In this one-time class, we will learn how candy was invented and apply the scientific method to our experiment with Skittles candies.

Description
Class Experience
Students will practice the steps of the scientific method in a fun and engaging context. They will share their prior knowledge, hypothesize, make detailed observations, gather data, graph the data, draw conclusions, and share what they discovered.
+ One package of Skittles candies or two mini snack size packs (m&m's also work) + one cup of water + 10 inch white shallow dish or a plate. If you don't have a white plate, a light colored plate also works and it doesn't have to be exactly 10 inches. + a spoon or a straw
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
