Introduction: We will begin class by sharing our favorite winter or holiday traditions and foods. Activity 1: Candy Cane Craft Learners will use the candy cane template sheet that will be posted in the classroom, construction paper, scissors, and glue to create their own candy cane art with a unique stripe pattern. Activity 2: Dissolving Candy Cane Experiment Learners will test how quickly the stripes of their candy cane dissolve in different temperatures of water. Activity 3: Fizzing...
Students will follow the steps of the scientific method as they complete the experiments.

Craft: Construction paper, scissors, glue Experiments: two cups, hot/cold water, 1/2 cup baking soda, 1 cup vinegar, dropper/pipette (optional), baking or craft tray, approximately 3-5 regular OR mini candy canes Safety glasses recommended.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance will be needed during the use of scissors, as well as during the science experiment portion of class.
