Class experience
Canada - home to diversity, the cold, Tim Hortons, and 10 provinces and 3 territories! Learn the history, geography, social science and culture of the Canadian landscape! Students will learn the social and physical history of Canada and its 13 provinces and territories. Students will engage with others in a group setting. Students will learn to ask questions about what they are learning, and obtain information from a variety of points of view.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. have been a librarian for over a decade. In this time, I have worked with students of all ages (college to elementary) on their reading, organization, and grammar skills. I have been with VIPKid, an online ESL teaching program, for 3 years. I have been with Magic Ears, another ESL teaching program, for 6 months. In this time, I have learned to elicit total physical response while engaging young learners, teaching curriculum based on learning English as a second language. I have worked in both one-on-one and four-on-one virtual settings. I am comfortable with all ages and larger groups of children.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Current events topics will be discussed with reference to articles on http://www.cbc.ca. Each class will focus on multiple perspectives about current events.
