Description
Class Experience
I love teaching about the scientific method and bringing hands on experiments to Outschool! I have taught many science classes here in the last year as well as in my own classroom for 8 years!
5 small cups or ramekins (enough to submerge a penny into) Sink or clear cups of water to clean off each penny after we take them out at the end of the experiment Paper towel to lay the pennies on 1/4 or 1/2 cup of the following: - lemon juice - dark soda (not diet) - ketchup - soap & water - vinegar & salt (sprinkle about a tablespoon in)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Supervision while preparing the experiment should be given before class to ensure the correct amount of each substance is place into the cup or dish and hands are washed well.
