Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their reading comprehension, learn to look closely for text evidence to answer questions, and practice writing answers by restating the question.
Students will receive homework at the end of each class to reinforce what they have learned. Homework is highly beneficial to practice and retain what has been taught. Learners will be given the passage"Biography of Dr. Suess" by J Garwood for homework to read 3 times. They will then look back in the text and highlight the text evidence to answer questions, and write the answers by restating the question. Homework should not take more than a 1/2 hour. Please make sure that your child comes prepared each week with their supplies and homework. Thank you.
 1 file available upon enrollment
Learners will need copies of the passages that I will upload at least 2 days before each class. I find it more helpful for parents to upload what is needed for each class instead of everything all at once. For each class, your child will also need to bring colored pencils, writing pencils, writing paper, a folder to keep their work in, and of course, their completed homework.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are informally assessed through class discussions, classwork, and homework.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
