Teacher expertise and credentials
I am Ms. Mary. I live in the US. I come from a family of educators. I am very passionate about teaching and enriching children. To be honest, I have been teaching since about age seven.
My first classroom consisted of teaching my younger siblings. I taught them how to read using my own unique methods at the time. I have always been a reader. My passion for teaching started very early. My philosophy of education is that every child can learn, given the right environment. A learning environment must be conducive for learning. The visual atmosphere must be stimulating and encouraging. The teaching techniques must be diversified. All children learn differently. Lastly, but not least, the teacher should promote classroom interaction between the teacher and the students. My classrooms will encourage stimulation and interaction.
I come to the out school platform with much teaching experience and education. I have taught in head start and other preschool settings. I have served as a manager of a learning center. I have served as an administrator of a developmental child care center. I have worked with as a substitute teacher in the public schools. I have a BA degree in Social Science as well as a M.ED degree in Education. The BA degree entails sociology, history, political science, economics and psychology coursework. I have completed a certificate in ESL Fast Track Instructor Training. I have experience teaching Social Studies to ages 11 through eighteen. My experience consists of working with ages 11 through 18 in a typical school setting. I successfully completed an internship required of an aspiring Social Studies teacher of grades 7 through 12. I have experience creating age appropriate lesson plans and executing them by employing various teaching strategies. I like enriching youth about the environment around them.
Teaching reading and literacy is of special interest to me. As a preschool and kindergarten teacher, I have been very instrumental in teaching early reading and literacy skills.
When working with the young child, I sometime use music as a class opening. It may mean me singing or presenting a music video. When working with the older child, I respectfully encourage their view points and opinions in my classes. From time to time, my classes may include some type of movement activity, Please provide a safe, secure, and healthy environment for your child to enjoy the physical activity.
