US Grade 1 - 3
*Please note that this class will cover different material that the Part 1 class. You also don't need to take the Part 1 class first. They are separate from one another, but can be fun to take each class in either order!* During this 45 minute class, students will have fun participating in some interactive camping activities together. Students are welcome to join us from inside a tent or fort if they choose to. They can bring a flashlight along for some fun too! (tents/forts and flashlights are not required for class) We will begin by discussing what we know and like about camping. If your child doesn't have any prior experience or knowledge of camping, it's perfectly fine! We will all learn more information together in class! Then I will read a story about camping (different from the part 1 class). The story will be interactive and students will be asked questions throughout the story to be involved with the plot and to feel like they are a part of the story! Then we will complete a graphic organizer after the story that will help check their comprehension of what we read and to extend our discussion of camping! Next, students will learn a few common constellations and we will make them together.(see supply list below or students can bring along paper/pencil) Students will then have the opportunity to participate in a few camping activities/games! One of the games will practice different parts of speech as I help support learners in telling a funny camping story! If there is extra time, students will be able to use their creativity as we work on our own story-telling skills together! *Students can bring along their favorite camping treat (not required) while we learn together and discuss what we love about the great outdoors! I hope to see you on our camping adventure soon!
Learning Goals
Students will learn more about camping and constellations. We will work on reading comprehension skills and creative story-telling as well.
