Description
Class Experience
The primary purpose of Campfire Singalong is to have fun, while learning songs and engaging with other songsters! It is not set up as a music instruction class. I set the scene by inviting learners to imagine that we're sitting on logs around a crackling campfire on a summer evening, with sensory details like a soft breeze, a golden sunset, peeping frogs, and the smells of woodsmoke and toasting marshmallows. Learners have fun through singing, listening and moving to music. A good belly-laugh is a key ingredient of a successful campfire singalong class!
Ms. May Louise brings to this class 30 years of experience teaching music to young children in both Waldorf and Regular Program classrooms. She fell in love with singing while sitting around the fire at Girl Guide camp, plays recorder and guitar, sings in a choir, and her license plate reads, JOYSONG.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
