Week 1Lesson 1Day 1: Discover Topic SentencesWelcome, brave writers! Today, we begin our journey to the fabled land of the Perfect Paragraph. Our first task is to lay the foundation with a strong topic sentence. This is the keystone of our paragraph, giving it direction and purpose.Lesson 2Day 2: Seek the Treasure of Supporting DetailsWith our direction determined, our quest continues with finding a treasure trove of supporting details.Lesson 3Day 3: Magical Transformation - Elaborating and ExplainingToday, we create the magical transformation of our paragraph. Elaboration and explanation are the magical elements that enrich our writing, bringing it to life and making it captivating.Lesson 4Day 4: Crack the Code of Transition WordsAs we near the end of our quest, we must ensure our paragraph flows smoothly. Today, we will use transition words to connect our ideas seamlessly.Lesson 5Day 5: Facing the ConclusionWe have reached the final stage of our journey. To complete our Perfect Paragraph, we need a powerful concluding sentence and some final revisions to ensure it shines.
- Students will learn how to write effective topic sentences, add supporting details, explain and elaborate those details and conclude their paragraphs.
I am an experienced middle school English teacher, who has taught in the classroom for 26 years and the last two years on Outschool, for a total of 28 years. I love helping my students learn how to express themselves clearly and build their confidence at the same time. I am a State of Florida certified educator: #750655

Student will need to be able to log into a Google classroom, so they will need the ability to do so. I will provide the Google Classroom link on the first day of class. All materials will be provided there.
