Students will learn about the living artist, Natasha Wescoat, who is well-known for her whimsical style. Natasha's whimsical style is well known for spirals, jeweled trees and movement. She was also one of the first artists to use the internet to share her images. We will study the color wheel, the use of layering colors and composition to create paintings inspired by her art. Students will follow along, step-by-step, with Ms. Crystal and are encouraged to interact with her and other students. Students are welcome to share their art with the class via the classroom. Recordings are made available after each class for students to refer back to and to practice the lesson and techniques. Teacher expertise and credentials
I am an illustrator, artist, teacher, business owner, and a pug mom. I have a degree in Illustration, a visual art minor with 20 years of teaching experience. I believe that knowledge is power and the more you know the greater your influence can be. Learning should be fun and individual. Even when my students are looking at the same picture for painting class, their work is very individual and unique to them and I love that part of the creative process. We are all learners and we should celebrate each other on the Journey!
