In this class we will discuss the wolves of Yellowstone National Park. We will cover the long history of wolves in the park, their elimination from the park, what it took to bring them back, and their impact on the biodiversity of the park. We will consider how stories impact our ideas of wolves, and we will myth-bust. Students will learn about the impact of complete biodiversity within the park. I am a certified teacher with a doctorate of jurisprudence and a masters of educational psychology specializing in Creativity & Cognition. Creative teaching and learning is my passion. I am a state-certified educator for all social studies topics from elementary school through high school. I have taught several A.P. social studies classes. I have also served as a science and math specialist, and I have spent many years teaching secondary English. I address all human history from a global perspective that respects all peoples' backgrounds. I have extensive and diverse experience in child advocacy, the family court system, and TBRI practices. In my spare time I run a foundation created to support veterans and educators in our community. I spent several years homeschooling my own children and working with a co-op. After 20 years as a certified educator, I am excited to lean into my own creativity and passion for our National Park System. It is my hope that I can inspire all learners to find wonder, peace, and hope through the lessons of our federal lands.
