Class Experience

Students will learn and practice skills in line with the Common Core standards of reading informational texts, including building knowledge, and summarizing texts.
My classroom is intended as a safe space for students to express their ideas and questions and develop confidence in their potential for learning. Students benefit from assuming an active role in the learning process through play and project based, experiential, collaborative, and task-based learning. I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s continued success, and please feel free to contact me with any questions or thoughts.
Students are welcome to read the books before class. However, they do not need to have a copy of the books, as we will read portions of them together on screen.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will watch a couple of educational videos about the athletes from child-friendly sources like PBS.
