In Camp Tell Me Something Good, each student will get to focus on their brainstorming, creative writing and storytelling skills while also improving upon the craft of coming up with solid story ideas (and later sharing them). Just like in my individual creative writing and storytelling course of the same name, students will be introduced to fun and informative exercises that allow them to first think of ideas for stories then put them into action as creative writers! The week will progress...
The goal of this engagingly enthusiastic and informatively interesting camp is to motivate students to THINK, WRITE & CREATE more and more by using and highlighting skills they already have and discovering new skills when it comes to brainstorming, creative writing and storytelling. There will be both group learning exercises and individual opportunities for every learner -- all designed to motivate and inspire them based on their current level of creative writing skill. We'll laugh, learn and make the most of our story time together!
Each student will be asked to make "The Creative Writer's Pledge" and try to work on, at least once a day while not in class, coming up with their very own story ideas to help improve their stories and creative writing skills overall.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
4 hours 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
