Camp Short Stories: Analyze a Variety of Short Stories

In this multi-day course, students will read a variety of short story genres and analyze the literary devices and elements used within each story. Students will discuss the larger meaning of the story and real-world applications. Students will be challenged to identify the author's purpose, mood, tone, setting, characters, plot, and climax. Course is recommended for mature students. Some topics for the short stories discussed may be upsetting to some students. Topics include death, magic, gang mentality, murder, hunting, and violence.
