informalClass Experience
US Grade 4 - 7
This is an interactive Science Camp where students will be introduced to science concepts that will include the Rock Cycle, Cloud Formation, Plate Tectonics, Star Formation, Dynamic Earth Changes, Volcanoes, Tsunamis, Geysers, Glaciers, Earthquakes, and Wildfires. Several experiments will be conducted that your student can attempt at home. Students will be guided step-by-step through the experiments to make their own cloud, make craters like on the moon, and make an edible rock cycle (most of the materials are easily found in your house). Younger students may need a parent nearby to assist during the experiment. As Per Outschool Policy: Parent MUST stay off camera. Day 1: Geology and the Rock Cycle (Make an Edible Rock Cycle) Day 2: Cloud Formation (Experiment: Make your own Cloud) Day 3: Star Formation and Planets (Experiment: Make Lunar Craters) Day 4: Geysers, Volcanoes, and WildFires Day 5: Earthquakes, Tidal Waves, and Glaciers
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of geology, astronomy, meteorology, and plate tectonics.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome! I love to help students learn new skills and explore topics of interest! I have been teaching for over 24 years and can’t wait to share my love of learning with you and your family. I am a Nationally Board-Certified Teacher and have my Ph.D. in Education.
I offer a wide variety of classes to meet a wide range of students' interests, needs, and ages. Check out my course options and choose one today. I promise you will have fun learning!
My teaching philosophy is to do whatever it takes to help your child learn. I like to build on your child’s background knowledge and interests to get them excited about topics. When children are excited about a topic, they learn without even realizing it! Engaging learners make the process fun and exciting and create a foundation for a love of learning.
I look forward to meeting you in one of my courses. See you soon!
Happy Learning,
Dr. Amy R.
