Camp: Rockin' in Rocky Mountain National Park
In this four session camp, learners will become Rocky Mountain National Park EXPLORERS! They will enjoy the wildlife, the lands, and the adventures of this favorite National Park!

In this four session course, we will be diving deeply into Rocky Mountain National Park. My objective is to create some deep learning moments while also igniting a strong interest/love for the Park. Students are expected to show up with energy, curiosity, and an adventurous spirit. We will discuss the geology, topography, biology, and stories surrounding the park. I will use photos, videos, anecdotes, models, and demonstrations. Students will engage with the material. Academic vocabulary...
Students will learn about the different ecosystems within the Park. They will develop a love and curiosity to explore the Park further.
I am a certified teacher with a doctorate of jurisprudence and a masters of educational psychology specializing in Creativity & Cognition. Creative teaching and learning is my passion. I am a state-certified educator for all social studies topics from elementary school through high school. I have taught several A.P. social studies classes. I have also served as a science and math specialist, and I have spent many years teaching secondary English. I address all human history from a global perspective that respects all peoples' backgrounds. I have extensive and diverse experience in child advocacy, the family court system, and TBRI practices. In my spare time I run a foundation created to support veterans and educators in our community. I spent several years homeschooling my own children and working with a co-op. After 20 years as a certified educator, I am excited to lean into my own creativity and passion for our National Park System. It is my hope that I can inspire all learners to find wonder, peace, and hope through the lessons of our federal lands.
