Description
Class Experience
In this 2-day class, we will be learning how to write a GREAT paragraph. Each students will be expected to write a paragraph on their own, but I will model what they need to do. On the first day, each learner will brainstorm what to write about. Then each will come up with the bare bones of a good paragraph - topic sentence, 3 details, conclusion. On the second day, we will take that "good" paragraph, and turn it into a "great" one through revisions - by adding a grabber, switching out...
Students will learn paragraph organization. But more important than that, they will see the importance of putting in a little extra effort and improving on their first draft through varying their sentences, choosing vivid verbs, and adding descriptive adjectives and adverbs.
If the student didn't finish their first draft in the first class, they will be expected to finish it during the week before the second class.
Lined paper and pencil
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
