I vividly remember the fun and excitement of going away to summer camp as a young child, and later becoming a counselor for two summers. This class will allow your child to experience that excitement by having nuttin' but fun for 55 minutes at sleep away camp. We begin by waving goodbye to parents and boarding the bus to camp. Ben takes us on a nature walk scavenger hunt that ends at the beautiful lake, where Teacher Sharon has caught a big fish. Learners meet the counselors, have a lemonade and watermelon snack and do watermelon math. Counselor Vera helps learners complete the “Draw a Watermelon” art project. From there we continue having Nuttin’ But Fun! at camp as we follow the schedule of events listed below. Materials: “How to Eat a Worm” printable, black marker, pencil, crayons (Learners can write on blank paper if you don't have a printer.) Schedule and What’s Happening 1. Nature Walk Scavenger Hunt 2. Reading/Language Arts/Spelling: Read text and answer comprehension questions; vocabulary development, compound words, story sequence (Materials: How to Eat a Worm printable), following directions, listen to a story 3. Math: counting, addition & subtraction word problem 4. Snack: (virtual) watermelon, lemonade, marshmallows and s’mores. 5. Science: Nature, worm fun facts 6. Art: Draw a Watermelon (Materials: black marker, paper- can draw on the back of the worm paper, crayons) 7. Music: Campfire song 8. P.E. Movements: These will be small arm and hand movements while sitting down to simulate the actions of the sport. No prior stretching or extra space is necessary. 9. Story
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to draw a watermelon, count watermelon seeds, eat a worm, read and understand the camp vocabulary words and much more.

I will share my screen while watching the YouTube video of the story. Learners will not need their own YouTube account. P.E. Movements: These will be small arm and hand movements while sitting down to simulate the actions of the sport. No prior stretching or extra space is necessary
