Join Mrs. Rachel for a weekly themed summer camp! We will prepare for kindergarten and first grade! Each week we will work on letters, sight words, reading, writing, and science! We will also do crafts, play fun games and sing songs!

Welcome to Mrs. Rachel's Summer Camp: "Kindergarten Here We Come!" Join us for an exciting 13-week adventure focusing on kindergarten readiness. Each week brings a new theme, incorporating a blend of learning and fun activities. Class Schedule: Duration: 35 minutes per day, 4 times a week (Monday-Thursday) 13 weeks, with Fridays off for relaxation and weekend enjoyment. This class is taught in English.
Students will improve: -Social and Emotional Skills -Basic Math/Number Skills (number recognition, number writing, counting, adding, and subtracting) -Letter Sounds (Identifying alphabet, letters, producing their sounds, and beginning/middle/end) -Concepts of Print (Building words, reading and writing left to right, top to bottom, spacing) -Writing/Drawing (letter and shape formation) -Sight words (high-frequency words)
-15+ years of experience with teaching children. -9 years as lead teacher and teacher's assistant. -OCFS trained and certified (New York State Office of Children and Family Services). -TCRWP (Teacher College for Reading and Writing Project) Certified. -Health and Safety Training Certification.

Each week, parents will receive a PDF with optional extension work for students to complete after class if they wish!Assessments Offered

-Whiteboard and whiteboard marker or plain sheet of paper -Child size scissors -Crayons, Markers, or Colored Pencils -Pencil or "Fat" Pencil (This is better for muscle development) -Glue Stick -Colored construction paper
Parents are welcome to help their child off-screen at any time. It is highly recommended that parents are present when we do brain break movement time so that your child doesn't hurt themselves during movement time. --Scissor Safety-- Parents should be present to help if we use scissors for crafts.
