Solving speed cubes (Rubik's Cubes) is addictive, and so much fun. It is a skill that improves memory, problem solving, analytical thinking, and dexterity. The 2x2 is a fun puzzle to learn how to solve. Both because it is the perfect size for holding, and because you can advance very quickly. This cube is considered by most to be the easiest Rubik's style cube to master, and it is a great beginning place for new cubers, or a fun new adventure for experienced cubers. You do not need to...
I have been solving the cube for years. I have old man / adult hands, so my times are not as fast as some, but I am efficient. My average solve is around 30 seconds. I solve using CFOP which is the most common method used by speed cubers. I am a teacher, and have taught many children and adults how to solve the cube. I have a lot of experience with pacing the instruction so that it makes sense and so that students get sufficient practice with each step as they progress towards becoming expert speed cubers.
You will have to practice at home. The more you practice, the better you will get. You will be expected to watch videos between each class that I post, and I will be assigning specific exercises in these videos for you to complete before each meting. It is expected that you will come to each meeting well practiced and ready to advance to the next step. These steps build on each other. If you are not ready, it will be difficult for you to continue advancing.
You will need a 2x2 cube.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
