In this course, students will learn the 30 essential comma rules used in the English language. Students will learn these rules and practice using the rules in a variety of exercises. This course will be taught through interaction and shared Google slides. Students will have to complete exercises to practice the learned material. Students will learn related grammar topics, such as restrictive and nonrestrictive clauses, dependent and independent clauses, compound subjects and predicates, phrases, gerunds, and infinitives. Session 1: Nouns, Proper Nouns, Verbs, Pronouns Session 2: Prepositions, Adverbs, Adjectives Session 3: Conjunctions, Dependent and Independent Clauses, Restrictive and Non-Restrictive Clauses Session 4: 30 Essential Comma Rules Session 5: Semi-colons, Colons, Gerunds, Infinitives
Learning Goals
Students will improve their grammar usage and use correct punctuation.
