Draw "Wings of Fire" Hybrid dragons ~ All NEW  Sky-Seawing, Hive-Rainwing, Sand-Mudwing 
I will take your student on a journey, Inspire, and build confidence.
During this 3-day HOLIDAY CAMP, your artist will learn to draw different hybrid dragons inspired by the Wings of Fire Series. So you do not have to read the books to draw the dragons, as all the hybrids we draw can be created to be your artist's very own! 

~Your artist must know how to draw and follow directions. We move at a steady pace to complete the dragon drawing in one hour. For beginners please look for my workshops, beginner camps, or flex courses. Thank you.

~Your artist will learn how to break down the dragon into simple shapes build the character and then add the details. Foreshortening, shape, proportion, texture, and shading will be discussed in each session. In each successive class, students will be able to share their finished drawings and they will get feedback from the instructor. 

~Artists can follow step by step and ask questions. I will give feedback on the student's progress and suggestions to improve their artistic skills. Artists are encouraged to hold their art up to the camera multiple times each class if they want help or encouragement, although this is optional. Artists are also welcome to ask for help during class at any point, so they never have to worry about getting stuck. 

~As always in any of my classes, I encourage artists to create in their style or follow along with me as we create hybrid dragons.

~Paper, pencil, and eraser are all you need. For the supplies I will use for each lesson please see the supplies needed. Digital drawing, colored pencils, or markers are always welcome in class! I encourage every artist to use what works best for them.


~ IMPORTANT~ Be on time for class! 
This is a step-by-step lesson and you need to be on time. If your artist is late, I will let them in class and they can participate where we are in the drawing. I will offer your artist the option of doing the complete lesson on the recording after class has finished and the lesson has been uploaded to the cloud.

Following is the breakdown of what topics will be covered each day:
DAY 1: Draw - "Sky-Seawing"  creating a new dragonet.
DAY 2: Draw - "Hive-Rainwing"  creating a new dragonet.
DAY 3: Draw - "Sand-Mudwing"  creating a new dragonet.

ABOUT
In this 3-day dragon camp, your artists will learn to draw a new Dragon in each class. Basic drawing experience is needed for this class! 

BEFORE CLASS
Students should log into class about 5 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows time for you to resolve any technical issues with your device's connection.  If you are using a battery-powered device (laptop, Ipad, etc) be sure it is fully charged or connected to the power supply.

I will use this time for students to show me any art they have completed and any questions before starting the class session. 

START OF CLASS
First thing, we will go over the supplies needed for the lesson and will ask each student their name. I encourage students to use the chatbox during class for questions. If they have an answer to my questions they are then allowed to unmute to answer the question. I love class participation!  Especially when we learn from each other about art! 

Then I will begin the step-by-step process of drawing out our character in easy-to-follow instructions. Each step will be broken down to the simplest form by using common shapes like circles and lines.  My favorite is comparing shapes to food!  Like a potato or a pizza. This frees the artist to allow for imperfections in their initial sketch. Once we build our character out, we will add details, texture, shading, and form to our drawing. If it is a painting, we will add these using watercolor paints.

How to choose pencil types and hardness.
How to choose paper and art mediums.
Create character and form using texture and shading.
Learning perspective views.

END OF CLASS
At the end of class, each student is allowed to show their work on the screen and tell the class about their work!  This is a big confidence booster!  You can see how much they worked and listened in class when they hold up their final art piece!  Thank you for encouraging your artist to be creative!

Drawing Class Supplies: 
- White Paper
- Pencil and eraser
- Blending tool: stump, Q-tip, or Kleenex

*Note that it is not required, but you will produce better drawings with special paper labeled specifically "Sketching or Drawing Paper".  

*According to Outschool policy, all students need to be registered separately. If they are not, they are to be placed in the waiting room until the parent can make arrangements to register the extra learners or the teacher may refund them.  We understand the desire for friends or siblings to watch, but if two children participate under one registration, they will be sent back to the waiting room per Outschool policy. One child per registration. It is acceptable for registered learners to share a screen!
