Cursive is making a comeback! In this multi-day course, students will learn the basics of the cursive letters, both lowercase and uppercase, as well as the basics of connecting letters in order to sign their name!

As a third grade teacher, I have seen how excited kids are to learn cursive as well as sign their name. In this multi-day course, we will begin by learning the proper paper positioning and grip of their pencil. Students will learn the necessary cursive strokes that will help students learn proper formation of both lowercase and uppercase letters. Once we have learned the alphabet, I will touch on how to connect letters properly. I will be providing ample opportunities to practice the strokes and give feedback on their progress. We will then focus on writing our names in cursive, to establish a signature. Through the use of hand motions and muscle memory, students will leave class feeling excited about their new found skill.

Supply List
Students will need handwriting practice paper with dashed center lines. If you do not have this, I have provided printable handwriting paper (you will need to print at least 7 pieces each day). Students will also need a pencil to write with.
