Learners will develop an appreciation for the designing of machines, houses, and robots which at first seem impossible to construct. Learners will learn to appreciate various types of extreme designs in machines, housing, and robotics. Learners will be exposed to various fields of study that utilize design.
I have had a life long love of design and architecture. I have conducted years of research on design and period construction as well as using my research to turn back buildings to their original designs. I am officially on my fifth building. I, like most children, question how things work and I love seeing how designers and engineers can push the envelope of what is possible within their work. As an educator by trade, I have found that young people need to be exposed to many types of subjects. With this in mind, I have developed this course to show students fascinating areas of study that can await them. At the end of each class, I encourage students to research more about each subject. This will encourage not only their research skills, but their reading ones as well. I have 20+ years of teaching experience in English and English literature. I hold a bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in Spanish. I also hold a College Reading and Learning (CRLA) certification as well as having years of experience as a writing consultant for our local college.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
